How do I create a new hiring process?

You will only have the opportunity to create a new hiring process as you are opening up a new job.

To start, you will first need to fill out all the details for your new job on the 'Job Setup' page then click the 'Next' button to proceed to the Hiring Process configuration.

Once on the Job Setup has been completed, you will be given the option to use (and alter) our default Hiring Process or start from scratch by creating your own. This article is going to cover how to create a brand new Hiring Process.



After you've clicked on the 'Create New' tab, you will be able to add new steps with a click of a few buttons.

NOTE: Every new Process will automatically include an application, this step will be included by default. If you don't have an application to fill out then applicants can't apply, and that would be bad. :)

Step One:  To start adding new steps to your Process, click the 'Add Hiring Step' button towards the middle of the page.




Step Two:  Select the step you would like to add from the dropdown menu.





Step Three: Your new step will now appear in your list of steps. If you have an interview or SmartRank Survey already created that you would like to use for this particular job, click the downward facing arrow and select the survey/interview from the dropdown menu.

If you would like to edit the default or previously created survey/interview, click the pencil icon to proceed to the edit page.




Step Four: Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. Keep clicking the 'Add Hiring Step' button and selecting the individual step until you have the perfect workflow for this particular job.

If you need to rearrange the steps in this process, click the dots on the lefthand side of the step then drag and drop to the position you would like.

If you accidentally added or changed your mind about a step in the process and you've determined that you would like to delete it, click the red x to the righthand side of the individual step.



Step Five: Open the job! After your Hiring Process is created, click the 'Next' button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes and proceed on in opening up your job. If at any point you need to leave this page and save this for later, click the 'Save & Exit' button at the top of the screen. This job and your Process will be saved for later under your 'Pending' tab on your 'Jobs & Candidates' page.




If you ever need to edit your Process for this job, you can do so at any point, even if the job is open with applicants. It's worth noting that if you made edits to your Hiring Process after you've started to see applicants or have started to score interviews for candidates, the edits will apply to all applicants and candidates in your Selection Manager. You will still be able to see any removed steps on the Candidate/Applicant Report Card page.
